Marketing Association of Credit Unions (MAC) Awards honors excellence in credit union marketing
Wednesday, August 26, 2020 – A membership organization dedicated to helping credit union marketers succeed, the Marketing Association of Credit Unions holds an annual awards competition that never fails to enlighten and inspire. Recognizing the top CU marketing campaigns in the country, this year’s winners of the annual MAC Awards competition honored 160 campaigns, including the bright and bold bus shelter ads from UMe, a credit union known for being funky, fun, and just a little bit cheeky.
Recognizing the top-tier of credit union brand and marketing campaigns since 1986, the MAC Awards are the sought-after mark of distinction for credit unions across the country. Judged by a panel of esteemed experts in marketing, advertising, media, and social media from both inside and outside of the financial services industry, this year’s competition honored 160 credit union campaigns as the cream of the crop.
UMe took home a gold in the Outdoor category for the UMe Bus Shelter Ads
This unique campaign featuring the iconic UMe Emu with his signature quips and comebacks in bus shelter ads positioned to gain greater brand awareness in the greater Burbank area, a tight-knit, unique community in Southern California. With a wide-ranging audience from young millennials to families to retirees, UMe wants to be the credit union of choice for all of them. This month-long campaign put a smile on the face of Burbankians and delivered positive brand associations for UMe that resulted in new membership, exceeding the CU’s goal by more than 18% and more than 300 new account-openings.
